The North American Equipment Dealers Assn. (NAEDA) recently announced six lawn and garden dealerships that have earned accreditation under NAEDA’s new Power Pro dealer program.

The six small engine dealerships earned accreditation by meeting industry standards related to operational performance and customer commitment. According to Joe Dykes, NAEDA director of OPE programs, “Power Pro is the mark of exceptional dealers. The program brands a dealership as a business where consumers can expect exceptional product knowledge, premium products, full service and complete satisfaction.”

A quick profile of the six dealerships that reached accreditation:

• F.B. McAfoos & Company, Benton, Ill. F.B. McAfoos (www.fbmcafoos.com) carries Kubota, Grasshopper, Stihl, Exmark, New Holland, Cub Cadet, Bush Hog and Land Pride equipment. The dealership, which is owned by Tom McAfoos, has been in business for 90 years and is a member of the Mississippi Valley Equipment Assn.
• A-1 Outdoor Power, Inc., Corcoran, Minn. A-1 Outdoor Power (www.a1outdoorpower.com) sells and services Exmark, Simplicity, Toro, Echo, Echo Bear Cat, Stihl, JRCO, Trac-Vac, Turf-Tec, and Billy Goat equipment. The dealership, which is owned by Jeff Johnson, has been in business for more than 25 years and its technicians have been certified by the Equipment & Engine Training Council. A-1 Outdoor Power Equipment is a member of the Minnesota-South Dakota Equipment Dealers Assn.
  

• Coeur d’Alene Tractor, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Coeur d’Alene Tractor (www.cdatractor.com) carries New Holland, Kubota, Land Pride, Toro and Ariens equipment. The dealership, a member of the Pacific Northwest Assn., is owned by John Adams, Bruce Schuh, Cal Russell and Wally Adams and has been in business for more than 60 years.
• McLaren Equipment Ltd., Phelpston, Ontario, Canada. McLaren Equipment Ltd. (www.mclarenequipment.com) carries John Deere, Stihl, Ariens, Exmark and Frontier equipment. The dealership is a two-generation family operation that has been in business more than 27 years. McLaren Equipment is a member of the Canada East Equipment Dealers Assn.
• Sohar’s All Season Mower Service, Macedonia, Ohio. The dealership carries Stihl, Echo, Kawasaki, Scag, Red Hawk, Toro, Lawn-Boy, Snapper, Honda, Ariens, Giant-Vac, Mantis, Little Wonder and Worldlawn. Sohar’s (www.sohars.com) is owned by Victor Sohar and employs 21, family owned and operated since 1981. The dealership is a member of the Ohio-Michigan Equipment Dealer. Assn. and the Ohio Landscape Assn.
  
• Plano Power Equipment, Plano, Tex. Plano Power Equipment (www.planopower.com) sells and services both lawn/garden and construction/industrial equipment. Brands carried by the dealership include Honda, Echo, Little Beaver, Little Wonder, RedMax, Scag, Stihl, Toro, Tru-Cut and Whipper Clipper. The dealership, which is owned by Glen Whitt, maintains a large inventory of parts and is staffed with experienced technicians. Plano Power Equipment is a member of the SouthWestern Assn.
