Stihl Supports NASPD Leadership School

The Oglebay National Training Center in West Virginia hosted the third year of the National Association of State Park Directors (NASPD) Leadership School.  The program began in 2008 and consists of both distance education and on-site components to educate future leaders of state parks.

The school is a two year training program and more than 74 first and second year participants enrolled this year, up from 67 in 2009. The program is funded in part by gold-level sponsor Stihl Inc., which provides travel funds to offset expenses of attending on-site leadership school events and also sponsors the NASPD annual conference.

Kioti Plans for Annual Dealer Meeting

Kioti Tractor, a division of Daedong Industrial Co. Ltd., recently announced the agenda for their upcoming Annual Dealer Meeting, which will be held at the upscale Sheraton Hotel in Raleigh, North Carolina from February 23-25, 2010.

This three day event will open with a dealer welcome reception on February 23, followed by two days of extensive sales training, product announcements and the opportunity for dealers to provide Kioti management with feedback from their assigned territory.

Rotary Names Recipient of Duke Award

Rotary Corp. has recognized longtime employee L.W. Bush for outstanding leadership and performance. Bush serves as vice president of purchasing.

The Duke Award, named in honor of the company’s late founder, Duke Harvey, was presented to Mr. Bush for consistently displaying both competitive and positive business approaches to enhance the growth of Rotary.

Kubota Contributes to Haitian Relief

Kubota Corp.’s affiliated companies in the U.S. and Canada, including Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC), Kubota Credit Corp. (KCC), Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA), Kubota Industrial Equipment (KIE), Kubota Engine America Corp. (KEA) and Kubota Canada, Ltd., have donated $50,000 in equipment in-kind for ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Kubota has provided generators and other electronic and first aid supplies through the California-based Operation USA.

In addition, Kubota Corpo. of Osaka, Japan, has already made a contribution of $110,000 to the Japanese Red Cross Society for earthquake relief assistance.  The combined Kubota Corp. worldwide donation also represents contributions from affiliated companies in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Maruyama Dealers Treated to Costa Rica

Maruyama U.S. Inc. recently co-sponsored a dealer incentive trip to the Paradisus Playa Conchal Resort on Costa Rica’s North Pacific Riviera. California distributor Tru-Power Inc. organized the event for their Maruyama dealer base located in southern California, Arizona, and Nevada.

According to Jack Ball, Sales Manager for Tru-Power, “On behalf of the participating dealers we sincerely thank Maruyama for co-sponsoring this incredible trip. During our farewell banquet, many dealers came up to me and asked how many Maruyama products they need to buy to qualify for the next incentive trip. ‘We want to go again’, they all said.”

The 57 participants were presented with a host of activities, such as horseback riding, golf on the Robert Trent Jones championship course, snorkeling, swimming, sailing, sports fishing, canopy zip line tours, and jungle river cruise.
