Power Equipment Trade’s 2010 Dealer Survey is now online, and dealers are greatly encouraged to visit the link and participate in industry’s longest-running dealer trend database, with detailed information on dealers and dealerships dating back almost 20 years.

Two service-oriented dealers were the lucky winners of the Power Equipment Trade 2009 Dealers Choice Awards $100 Voter Giveaways, with two lucky voters chosen at random for the cash awards—just for participating in the PET GIE+EXPO Dealers Choice Awards.
Gene Lupton, owner of Gene’s Lawnmower Service Center in Lowland, NC, made his third visit to GIE+EXPO and greatly enjoyed “riding everything” in the outdoor demo area. Inside, at the all-new Service Center Pavilion at the show, Lupton said, “I just stood there and watched a guy from Stihl for 30-45 minutes tearing down a carburetor—and I learned a lot.”
Joe Thomas, owner of Thomas Outdoor Power Repair in Indianapolis, Ind., does mostly service work, but also sells some RedMax units. The biggest issues he’s seen recently are mostly related to bad or stale ethanol-blended fuel. He added that he had a great time at GIE+EXPO 2009.
Power Equipment Trade has announced the finalists in the fourth-annual PET Dealers Choice Awards. Dealers began voting on October 1 for their favorite products on display at this year’s GIE+EXPO. There are five product categories: attachments/accessories, business services, hand-held, power sports, and wheeled. Dealers can vote on-line now and also at the show, at Power Equipment Trade Booth #9043. Winners will be announced at 11 a.m. on center stage at the New Products Arena at GIE+EXPO, following the Trucks of Industry Giveaway winner announcement. Dealers VOTE here.

Power Equipment Trade GIE+EXPO Dealers Choice Awards voters now have two more ways to win: The first two years of the Dealers Choice Awards, PET gave away a cash prize, and this year we’re adding to our vote-buying assets with two additional give-aways: a set of PulseTech battery chargers. Dealers vote for their favorite new products on GIE+EXPO’s first two days, PET tabulates the vote overnight and announces dealer-selected winners in five categories at noon on GIE+EXPO’s final day, Saturday October 25 at Booth 800, immediately following the Trucks of Industry Giveaway winner announcement. On the two days of voting, we’ll draw a battery charger winner from each day’s ballots, then put all ballots into a $100 cash drawing. The winners are announced on Saturday. Look for official PET GIE+EXPO Dealers Choice Awards ballots at PET Booth 11157, just inside the door at The Dealer Experience, and at the Dealer Club lounge area.
